England started off the Ashes series by winning the toss and decided to bat first. Batsman have lived up to the team expectation and performed well on Day 1. England scored 336 for 7 with some good performances by Kevin Pietersen, Collingwood , Prior. In all a day that belongs to England but Aussies are not behind, they picked up early 2-wickets but England then stood up well with some good partnerships. All the main batsman are back in the pavilion so its only tail enders that are left. Aussies have to stop them for about 20-30 runs more and then have to bat full day to get past the total.
